Countertop Electrical Outlet – In most installations of electrical outlets, the plug is fed by a single circuit that has a wire for heat, a neutral wire and a ground wire. But sometimes the circuit may include a red cable.
Turn off the power to the circuit breakers of countertop electrical outlet that power cables red and black. Use a voltmeter to ensure that no current flows through them. Use the wire strippers to remove about 3/ 4 inch (1.9 cm) of insulation from each wire. Then fold the exposed ends of copper in the form of a hook to fit the screws on the terminal in the plug.
